StrongView® Security Mesh

Using high tensile 316 marine grade stainless steel, woven into a fine mesh, StrongView®  is a modern innovation in security technology. StrongView® security screen doors are assembled using a unique patented pressure process, eliminating the need for screws, rivets, pins or snap-ins to retain the mesh panel. This system also ensures no dissimilar metal surfaces come into contact with each other, avoiding the possibility of corrosion.

We’re so sure of the quality of StrongView® security doors and window screens that we cover them with a comprehensive 6 year warranty.

TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS

Produced with only the highest quality materials and rigorously tested at a NATA approved facility StrongView® security screens are designed to withstand even the most aggressive would-be intruder, and everything nature can throw at them to boot.

StrongView® security screen doors and windows have been tested in some of Australia’s harshest climactic conditions including surpassing an 8000hrs acetic acid salt spray milestone, an equivalent of over 25 years of usage.

StrongView® security screens are assembled into high quality door and window frames using our a patented ‘pressure fit’ mesh retaining system technology. This system prevents the door frame material from coming into contact with the stainless steel or aluminium security screens, thereby resisting galvanic corrosion and increasing the overall lifespan of your security screen product.

The StrongView® ‘pressure fit’ system uses no glue and has no visible fixings, giving your door/window a designer look and feel. No screws or clamps penetrate through the face of the security screen mesh, keeping the face of your security screen uncompromised. A dual purpose PVC ‘wrap around’ pressure fit co-extrusion allows for mesh retention and provides the ultimate protection from dissimilar metals coming into contact.

CARE AND
MAINTENANCE

The finishes that are applied to StrongView® products are of high quality and are extremely durable and weather resistant. Like all fixtures around the home some maintenance is required to preserve the original appearance of the product.

Anodised Surfaces

Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Do not under any circumstances use any abrasive type cleaning agent (Ajax or similar) or cleaning material (such as steel wool) as it will damage the anodised surface. Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water.

Powdercoated Aluminium

Deposited grime absorbs moisture and holds it against the powder coated surface, damaging the coating. Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using a soft sponge with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water to avoid deterioration of the coating which will occur as a result of soap deposition. Do not under any circumstances use any abrasive type cleaning agent (Ajax or similar). If small scratches occur, they can be buffed out using a good quality car polish. Care must be taken to ensure the coated surface is not removed.

Frequency

Frequency of cleaning is largely dependent on the location of the building. In most circumstances cleaning may be carried out every 3–4 months. StrongView® products installed close to more severe conditions, such as marine or industrial environments, should be cleaned every 2–4 weeks.

Security Testing

  • null

    Security Testing

    (Australian Standard AS5039 & AS5041)

StrongView® Stainless Steel security products are subjected to a rigorous regime of impact tests, jimmy attacks and pull testing under this standard, to ensure that the inherent strength and structural integrity of the manufactured security product is maintained.

  • null

    Knife Shear Test

    (Australian Standard AS5039 & AS5041)

StrongView® Stainless Steel security products are tested for material hardness and tensile strength by subjecting the mesh to a standardised physical cutting attack, which draws a knife over the mesh a number of times.

  • null

    Fire Attenuation Test

    (Australian Standard AS1530.4-2005, Appendix B7)

StrongView® Stainless Steel security products have been tested in general accordance with this standard and when exposed to incident radiant heat StrongView® achieves a 41% reduction in the radiant heat ux between the inside and outside of the product.

  • null

    Cyclonic Missile Impacts

    (Australian Standard AS1170.2-2011)

In cyclonic regions glazed windows and doors may need to be protected from flying debris. StrongView® Stainless Steel security products have been tested to resist a 4kg, 100mm x 50mm timber traveling at 34m/s red from an air canon. The screen is then shot an additional five times with 8mm steel ball bearings, shot into the screen at the same speed.

  • null

    Dynamic Impact Test

    (Australian Standard AS5039 & AS5041)

The dynamic impact test was created to imitate an intruder attempting to kick, shoulder or otherwise force their way through the screen. The accepted and standardised test to replicate this is ve 100 joule impacts (Energy).

  • null

    Jemmy Test

    (Australian Standard AS5039 & AS5041)

The test simulates an intruder using a lever such as an industrial large scale screwdriver to try and pry open locking and hinge areas on a security door or window screen installation. The force applied is up to 450 N (45 kg) for 20 seconds, above and beyond the strength of many would-be intruders.

  • null

    Bushfire Compliance

    (Australian Standard AS3959-2018)

StrongView® has been independently tested to BAL-40 (Bushfire Attack Level) and can be used in bushfire prone areas up to and including those rated to BAL-FZ when used in conjunction with a window that has an FRL of at least -/30/- or conforming with AS1530.8.2.

  • null

    Energy & UV

(Tested under the Window Energy Rating Scheme)

Screens are a useful tool to give a home Natural Cross Flow Ventilation and keep air-con costs down but they can also reduce solar heat and UV light out during summer periods, and help reduce heat loss during winter. The Window Energy Rating Scheme also known as ‘WERS’ independently tests the reduction in solar heat and damaging UV light across a range of typical glazed scenarios found in windows at Australian residences.
